NotesH.J Jones Nursery, as known as Ryecroft Nursery was located in Hither Green in Lewisham. They were known for their chrysanthemums in particular. The nursery operated from 1886 to 1916. In 1893 they boasted 10,000 chrysanthemums grown in one year, as well as 18,000 plants in 6 inch pots. The principle show house was 104 feet long by 24 feet wide, with a well-ventilated span-roof structure. Jones imported seeds from America, France, Belgium, Italy and Japan.
